Hendersons’ Targeted Maths Program is designed to identify and provide direction to close gaps in mathematical understanding with research-backed evidence. The Program provides a personalised and targeted pathway to success in maths for students in years 5-9.
Please note that Hendersons’ Targeted Maths does not replace the exam preparation mathematics workshops which are designed to get students ready for selective high school or scholarship entrance exams.

Addresses students’ ability to identify factors and multiples of a number and students’ understanding of the order in which mathematical operations are performed. Mastery of this concept is important in algebra, where expressions combine multiple operations. for the assessment and workshop, only positive whole numbers are used, and the operations include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and brackets.
How to start your child on their learning journey:
1. Decide on the mathematics concepts to target. Number, fractions, decimals, percentages, algebra and measurement.
2. Contact Hendersons to book. Phone 03 9813 0277
3. Your child will complete the online pre-assessment quiz/quizzes prior to the workshop (Hendersons will share details upon booking).
4. Your child will attend the targeted workshop at our Hawthorn site covering:

learning activities specific to the students’ learning needs based on their assessment

Post-assessment (online in the workshop – students are advised to bring a device)
5. You receive a copy of the pre-and post-assessment and advice to direct future focused learning and continued progress.
